    Abstract

Stores and retail facilities in the EU could benefit from up to 50% in energy savings thanks to the measures identified by the EU-funded project Night Hawks. These include measures such as turning beverage coolers off at night and replacing lamps with LEDs to reduce night time energy waste. A guidebook with best cases comprises the potential savings identified during “night walks” i.e. on-site energy surveys held at times when businesses are closed to the public.
